Audrey's Farmhouse - A Dreamy Greenhouse Wedding

It was a late summer day, sun shining bright and hot, Nick and Nina darting around the property thoughtfully draping this and stacking that, lending their final thoughts to every surface of their dream wedding.

We arrived at Audrey’s Farmhouse in Walkill, NY (a favorite venue of ours!) with Game Rental Package #3 in tow. The giddy couple led us through the space, first touring the barn with its rough hewn bar and dessert station, then through the bright and airy greenhouse, the length of which ran rustic farm tables dotted with colorful bouquets that Nick and Nina grew themselves.

A greenhouse wedding at Audrey’s Farmhouse in Gardiner, NY with flowers by Fern + Fawn.

Then came the blue stone patio out back with several rows of wooden folding chairs angled towards a towering violet-colored fabric backdrop for the ceremony. (The groom used scrap wood to construct a simple wooden frame while the bride hand dyed linen the color of deep dusk. Swoon.)

Back through the greenhouse, we were led out the sliding double doors in the center of the room and asked to set up in the lawn, flanked by a fire pit and the restaurant’s herb garden. We were delighted- it was the perfect amount of space for our sprawling lawn games and tent!

We dressed up the tent with white sheer curtains at every corner, gathering them at their centers under the tent’s scalloped valance. The tent lent much-needed shade and protection from the elements for guests enjoying our signature table games.

Just behind the tent stood Gruyere, a towering maze of a game that attracts every age group with equal enthusiasm. (It’s that grate ;) Based on a popular 17th century game from Switzerland, it can be played by one person or two, asking players to guide the ball up through the maze to the very top center hole without dropping it.

In front of the tent we set up our oversized lawn games which include Cornhole, giant Jenga®, Knock Out (our giant dice game for math lovers), and our especially handy Drink and Jacket Stands.

Soon enough it was time for cocktail hour and the guests excitedly made their way to the games, riding high after a gorgeous ceremony. Drinks in hand, friendly competition ensued and new friends were made. (We’ve found no better way to break the ice between far-flung friends and loved ones than to set them loose on some games!)

“There’s nothing more satisfying during the wedding planning process than checking that box or striking through a whole line on your to-do list, and honestly that satisfaction is exactly what Upstate Jamboree offers! Not only do they provide an awesome experience for your guests, but they’ll show up on time, set up their lawn game rentals without an issue & pack it all out like pros. It’s just one less thing you’ll have to think about.

As far as the lawn games go, we couldn’t have been happier. It was a great ice breaker, a way for people to mingle & get the party started during cocktail hour, and it ended up being a an awesome alternative to the dance floor for some people. We had friends playing late into the night! Hire these guys & bask in the glory of crossing off one more thing on that to-do list. You won’t regret it!”

Pucks flew, balls rolled, and cornhole bags smacked boards in the distance until it was time for dinner. We tidied up while everyone enjoyed their meal, and before we knew it guests started trickling back outside for more games. Lively crowds moseyed in and out of the barn for a break between dance-offs to play another round of Cornhole or try out the games they didn’t get to earlier. After all was said and done we packed up our tent, table and lawn games, and called it a wrap for another fabulous wedding at Audrey’s Farmhouse.

THANK YOU NICK & NINA FOR HAVING US AT YOUR WEDDING!
